Help Lori Ross Fight Stage 4A Oral Cavity Cancer

Hi, my name is Graclyn Ross; daughter of Lori Ross. I am 17 years old, my mother is the only person I have in my life. My mom was diagnosed in March of 2024 of Oral Cavity Cancer. She has Invasive Squamous Cell Carcinoma within bone and fibromuscular tissue. Tumors are still present. She is a single mother. This has been a difficult time for my mom and our family, and I am reaching out for your support as our family faces this challenging journey.

Since then, she has had two major surgeries. The first surgery was not successful at Stage 3. Within the next month, she received a second surgery which was more successful than the first but is now at Stage 4a. My mother was in the hospital for a total of 53 days. She still has cancer cells that are alive and spreading/present. This diagnosis has turned her world upside down, along with mine as I tube feed her 8 times a day and provide her medication 3x daily. She will need to undergo chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy, speech therapy, palliative care, and at home care which will all be physically and emotionally demanding and draining. Unfortunately, this has also affected her ability to work, putting a strain on her financial resources.

The cost of treatment, along with everyday expenses, is overwhelming. We are asking for the help of the community to cover medical bills, travel costs for treatment from Belleview, FL to UF Shands Gainesville, and to support our family during this time. Every little bit helps and will allow my mom to focus on her recovery without the added stress of financial worries. Rent has already fallen behind and we are at the point of drowning with the economy the way it is.
