Hi, my name is Kim Burke and I am fundraising for Lori.
Lori is a dear friend of mine who is struggling and desperately needs help. She is in need of financial help as well as therapy. These last three months, have been very difficult for Lori. {Physically, emotionally and financially}. Lori loves her job and desperately wants to get back to the classroom and her students, who she misses very much but she needs more physical therapy to restore her ability to walk on her own. We are in the process of getting restorative therapy set up for her as well as home health care so she can finish recuperating in her own apartment. This will do wonders for healing her mentally and emotionally. Please consider saying prayers for Lori for strength, a healthy body and mind as well as a means to help her with her financial troubles.
Lori needs financial help to cover her rent, her utility bills, her unexpected health bills as well as money to pay for medicines, insulin, and equipment which she needs to be able to get around on her own. Lori has no savings and currently has only approximately $31 in her bank account. We don't know when she will be able to return to work so she can start getting a paycheck again. At this time Lori has no source of income. She would appreciate any prayers and any help you can provide. If you are able to help please consider making a donation to help Lori out. If you are unable to at this time, please consider forwarding or sharing this information.
See below Lori's journey...
What started out as severe knee pain ended up being a severe and dangerous infection attacking her body. Lori needed to have back to back surgeries because she had sepsis. The infection was traveling through her blood stream (osteomyelitis). The doctors needed to remove all of the bacteria that had migrated to her knee from a sore on her toe. This resulted in her not having any mobility in her knee joint. She then needed an additional surgery to have part of her toe removed because the infection was not responding to the antibiotics and it was in her bone, which was dying (osteonecrosis). The doctors said that if she did not let them remove the toe it would eventually spread and start affecting other bones in her body which ultimately would need to be amputated.
Lori was transferred to a nursing facility from the hospital because she needed antibiotic therapy as well as occupational & physical therapy because she was unable to fully care for herself.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for caring.
