Hi! I'm Casey, two-time survivor of breast cancer and two-time recipient of the incredible generosity my community has offered. That said, I'm here with a similar call-to-action. This time, it's for one of the most resilient, selfless, kind, and funny humans to ever walk the earth - My aunt, Lori Boughton.

Here's the thing, Aunt Lori has been dealt a crappy hand, more times than I care to count. However, in the times that most would throw in the towel or spend a decade pouting, Aunt Lori has dusted herself off and has drowned out the demons with positivity and perseverance, every. single. time.

Now, life has presented the biggest challenge yet, the big C. Aunt Lori has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer, which has metastasized and taken up residence in both hemispheres of her brain. Yeah. Life really tripled-down on that big C...

As you can imagine, this type of diagnosis is racking up quite the financial burden. On top of the obvious onslaught of medical bills, there is reduction in wages while undergoing treatment (still thankful for STD and LTD plans!), travel costs to and from the dozens of appointments and procedures, and all of the other unforeseen, upcoming expenses. However, the primary concern at the moment is maintaining COBRA coverage for the next few months, as my beautiful Aunt Lori is a resident of Michigan, but is receiving treatment across the border in Indiana (meaning COBRA will soon be her only option for continued treatment coverage). Her care team and treatments are at Parkview Packnett Family Cancer Institute and they are, quite literally, her lifeline. Without her COBRA coverage, she will be unable to continue her treatment plan with the Parkview care team, leaving her cancer to run wild.

On top of being an amazing human and aunt, Lori is a mother, grandmother (x4), sister, beloved coworker, and is ALWAYS going to bat for others, in every and any way she can. It's our turn to do the same for her. Any contribution is worthy and greatly appreciated, no matter the denomination.
