Hi, my name is April and I'm a friend of Lori who has had her world turned upside down just over a week ago. Lori has asked me if I could assist her with making this page for her and share the story of her son Colton.

On Feb. 2, 2025 Lori's youngest son Colton had been admitted into the hospital.
He has been suffering with some neurological problems for the last few months and things have gotten worse over a short period of time.
His MRI results came back with some not so good news.
They found a mass/tumor imbedded in his brain and where it's located its inoperable. They also found fluid in his brain.
He is scheduled for a biopsy and a surgical procedure to install a shunt.
The neurological surgeon also said that where it's placed, it's normally not good news.

Colton had the biopsy done and the shunt put in on Feb. 4th, 2025. He handled the surgery well and the results were bittersweet.
Colton had been diagnosed with Stage 1 brain cancer. I say bittersweet because it is stage 1, so he has a good shot of beating this, but it's still cancer and he's going to have a long road a head of him.

Lori lives over two hours out of the city and has been traveling everyday to the hospital to be with her son. Her fiance has recently been laid off and has yet to start receiving employment insurance. Lori is also the prime caregiver of her mother, who lives with her and can't be left alone overnight due to a fall that she had a few months back.

While the future is uncertain with the battle ahead, Lori is now feeling the financial strains - she has no vacation time left and is now on an unpaid leave from work.

The money raised will be used for transportation to and from the hospital, as well as provide some aide for her for keeping up with her bills at home. Colton will also be using this money for when he begins his battle. It will assist him with the cost of living while going through the treatments to beat this.

They are waiting for what steps will be taken next. When they receive the results from the pathology report, a plan will be set in place for treatment. The pathology report takes 10 - 14 days from when the biopsy was done.

If you could spare anything at all to help out, it would be greatly appreciated. If you could share this page, that would be amazing too.

Lori and Colton are going to have a long road a head of them and any little bit helps. Let's help ease some of their worries financially, so they can focus on the road ahead.
