I’m raising money for my gender-affirming top surgery!

Originally my surgery was scheduled for March 2026. I had everything lined up and was ready mentally, emotionally, all of it. But because of delays in the American healthcare system, my surgery has been pushed back to August 24th, 2026.

I’ve spent a lot of my life trying to make myself smaller, quieter, and easier to fit into something I was never actually meant for. Top surgery isn’t cosmetic for me, this is something I’ve needed for a long time. It’s about being able to exist in my body without that constant disconnect, to breathe easier, and to just be without thinking about it all the time.

So now it’s a waiting game…. I’m really grateful to still have a date, but the extra time also means extra costs, time off work, and just more to carry in the meantime. I would be crushed if my surgery had to be delayed a second time because of finances.

Altogether, I’m trying to raise about $7,000, which feels like a fake number someone made up specifically to scare me. But I live in America, and my insurance deductible is painfully high. Any money raised will go toward surgery-related expenses, recovery time, and all the things insurance still doesn't cover.
