Lorenzo’s Severe Burn Accident

As some of you may know, Sunday evening Lorenzo had a severe accident. While in the care of someone else, he had reached for a thing of boiling water. The water fell on him leaving second degree burns under his chin, on his chest, and his entire right arm. He was rushed to Swedish American hospital in Rockford.  They determined he needed to be transported for care at a burn trauma center in Chicago. As troubling as this is we are reaching out for any help. I had just returned back to work last week on 09/17/19  from maternity leave. My time off is undetermined at this point, although we will be in the burn trauma center until towards the end of this week. His burn is healing as it should, but the doctors did warn us it’s possible it will spread (and it has been getting worse since the first picture was taken). Currently Lorenzo is having to be sedated in the mornings and they are wiping away the dead skin. I am running out of PTO, and his father is going unpaid. We are also paying a hefty amount just for parking. We haven’t  received the medical bills which we are expecting to be high on top of our regular expenses as a family of 4.  Again, this is the last thing I wanted to do but we are in desperate need of any help.  If you find it in your heart to help us, we would forever appreciate it.
