As a mother, there are moments when your child does something that truly takes your breath away. Today is one of those moments.

My 12-year-old son, Lorenzo has been growing his beautiful blonde hair for years. He’s loved it, and I’ve loved watching him embrace it. But recently, he made a decision that filled my heart with pride—he’s cutting his hair to donate it to the children’s hospital oncology unit.

When he learned that kids going through cancer treatments often lose their hair, he didn’t hesitate. He wanted to help. He told me, ‘If my hair can make another kid smile, then it’s totally worth it.’ At such a young age, he understands something so powerful—the importance of kindness and giving.

Lorenzo didn’t want to stop there. He also wanted to do more to help the children and families facing the unimaginable challenges of childhood cancer. So, along with donating his hair, we’re also organizing a fundraiser to support the children’s hospital. Every dollar raised will go toward providing comfort, care, and resources for these brave kids and their families.
