Loren’s Road to Recovery: Help Him Come Home After a Stroke
Loren is the kind of person who makes you laugh with his incredible sense of humor, solves problems with genius-level creativity, and shows up without hesitation when someone he cares for needs help. Now, after having suffered a devastating stroke at just 40 years old, leaving him paralyzed on his left side, he’s the one who needs us. After weeks of courageous progress in inpatient rehab, he’s finally ready to come home, but his recovery is far from over.
The Challenge Ahead:
He’s fought hard and put forth an incredible effort with his amazing team of professionals at St. Charles, and his progress has been awe inspiring. The next phase, returning home, comes with a staggering financial challenge.
To regain his independence, Loren requires 24/7 in-home nursing care and therapy, costing $10,000/month for at least 6 months. Without this care, he risks setbacks that could derail his hard-won progress. Unfortunately, insurance won’t cover the full cost, and his medical leave has left him financially vulnerable.
How You Can Help:
- Donate: Every dollar brings him closer to the care he needs.
- Share: Even if you can’t give, spreading the word makes a difference.
- Leave a note: Your words of encouragement will lift his spirits during this long fight.
Why This Matters:
Before his stroke, Loren was the kind of person who would be there when you needed him, making us laugh and showing genuine thoughtfulness when he knew we had a problem to solve. Now, it’s our turn to support him. With your help, we can ensure he gets the physical and occupational therapy, adaptive equipment, and skilled care he needs to rebuild his life.
Updates:
We’ll post regular progress reports so you can see the impact of your generosity. Thank you for being part of Loren’s journey home!
