Lorena is a good friend of mine who wanted to improve her eyesight by having Lasik/PRK surgery. The day after the surgery (April 1st) Lorena started feeling pain in her eyes. After several calls to her eye doctor, she was assured that this was normal for the healing process. On April 3rd, she was able to be seen by her doctor and was told that she needed to be rushed to the hospital, because the doctor identified bacteria in her eyes. Cultures were taken at the hospital and on April 5th she was diagnosed with Staphylococcus and immediately prescribed antibiotics and pain medication. At this point Lorena is completely blind. Due to this injury Lorena can no longer work, drive, care for her son Timothy by herself, or do any normal activities. Her church is currently helping her with meals and doctor visits, but this does not pay the existing bills, nor the increasing medical expenses she is incurring. Her eyesight will not be restored until she can have a corneal transplant and at this point, we do not know when this will occur.

Support funding is needed now and will continue to be a need until Lorena's eyesight can be restored. Please help financially in any way that you can.
