A team of over 35’s dance mums and dads with no dance experience themselves have been training for months to compete at the UK formation team championships on 18th May in Stoke-on-Trent in a bid to raise funds for their children’s competitive dance teams. In honour of our original team member Gemma Williams, who sadly lost her battle to cancer in March this year, this fundraiser will also be in conjunction with St David’s Hospice Care with the permission of Gemma’s wife Louise, who was also an original team member.
The team are working very hard in training every week, amazing friendships have been formed and lots of laughs and giggles along the way, all whilst raising funds for all of our wonderful formation dancers and Gemma’s chosen charity. Dancing to the best of the 80’s music, the team decided to rename themselves “80’s Gems” as a nod to Gemma, Louise and Kevin, Gemma’s brother, who all started this journey with us.
