Loren and Linda Need Our Help
Donation protected
Friends and family, my name is Stacey. I am the daughter to Loren and Linda Stoltenberg. I am organizing this fundraiser in hopes to help my parents alleviate some of the financial burden that comes with a sudden diagnosis of Stage 4 triple negative breast cancer that has spread to her bones.
Linda went in for her wellness exam and mammogram on June 2nd. A few days later she was told that a lump had been found in her breast and a biopsy would need to be done. That same week she was experiencing excruciating pain in her back and was able to get scheduled for an MRI of her back. The following day she went to the hospital in Alexandria because the pain in her back was unbearable. It was there she was told the MRI results revealed there were 3 masses on her spine. She was kept over night to monitor her for the
back pain and discharged the following day. Over the next few days many appointments were made, including a consultation with an oncologist. Linda was told it was suspected that she had Stage 4 breast cancer and it had spread to her bones. She would be need a breast and bone biopsy for proper diagnosis in order to start treatment. That Friday evening of the same week the pain in her back was once again so unbearable that she needed to go back to the hospital in Alexandria. At the hospital a CT scan of her abdomen and chest were done and it was discovered that one of her kidneys was much smaller than the other and it had a blood clot in the arteries. It was also discovered that there was a clot in her lung as well. She was then ambulanced to Essentia Health in Fargo where specialists would be available to assist if needed. Linda was discharged on Sunday to go home and manage pain in hopes she would make it to her breast biopsy appointment in Alexandria the following morning. She was home from Fargo for a little over 6 hours when I took her back to Hospital in Alexandria. It was decided to keep her in the hospital and receive IV pain medication so she could go to her biopsy appointment at the hospital the following morning. That Monday she had the biopsy done. She continued to stay in the hospital in hopes of getting the pain under control using oral medication so she could once again go home. On Tuesday while in the hospital my brother noticed that Linda was not behaving in a way he thought appropriate and called for the nurses. She was taken for further assessment and soon after was being transferred by ambulance to the St. Cloud Hospital for a possible stroke. It was determined that it was indeed a stroke and surgery would be needed. Surgery was completed immediately upon arriving at the St Cloud Hospital. Later this same day we were told that the results of the biopsy revealed that Linda does in fact have breast cancer.
Linda remains in the hospital still today. She is fighting and up to this point has been a warrior, no doubt. Linda has always been there to help us out in any way she can and now my parents need your help. My dad has been staying in St Cloud so he can be close to her but as we all know it is expensive to be away from our homes, eating out and traveling.
Your donation — no matter the size — will make a difference. Every dollar helps ease the financial burden of ongoing treatments that are yet to be determined, medical bills, and daily expenses. If you're unable to give, please consider sharing this campaign with your friends, family, and networks.
Your kindness, generosity, and prayers mean more than words can express.
