Lorelei vs Lyme (Part 2)
Lorelei was diagnosed with chronic, late-stage Lyme disease and has been suffering from multiple co-infections in her jaw that have created cysts and tumors in her jaw and deteriorated a significant amount of her jawbone. This has also put strain on her lymphatic, adrenal, liver, thyroid, hormone, and immune systems.
She is in the process of undergoing multiple complex surgeries to remove these infections in her jaw, including tumor and cyst removal and jaw reconstruction & rehabilitation. Once the infection load is removed from her jawbone and affected teeth, her doctors are hopeful that her body will then be able to respond to Lyme-specific treatments and eventually go into remission or better yet - be totally healed.
If she doesn’t get these surgeries, which are not covered by insurance and must be paid for up front, the infection will continue spreading into other systems in her body and will eventually be fatal.
In August 2020, she had her first procedure: tumor & tooth removal and a bone graft, which was the first step toward reconstructive surgery. Because that first surgery was more extensive than expected (due to an aggressive tumor that destroyed most of the bottom left side of her jawbone), her body is just now ready for the next stage of reconstruction and rehabilitation on the left side of her jaw. This November, Lorelei will undergo a second surgery that will include a bone graft, a sinus lift (to make room for the bone graft), and jaw reconstruction.
**Lorelei only needs an additional $2,853 to meet her $10,500 goal that will cover the total cost of this second procedure. Please consider being part of her healing by giving to her campaign today! You may also give directly to herthrough Venmo. Please email [email redacted] if you would like her Venmo handle.
