Hello dear family and friends,
As many of you know, almost 2 weeks ago we found out my dad has stage 3 or 4 non-hodgkin's lymphoma. The hospital in Florida has had to do a second biopsy as they are unable to discern what type of lymphoma he has. That is still unknown. On Friday October 29, he was admitted to Sarasota Hospital for severe lethargy. He was too weak to walk and he couldn't wake up. He was taken via ambulance and has been there since. The hospital was able to get him his first round of chemotherapy and he has made vast improvements. After almost losing him, it is so welcome to see his mind and body working hard to get better.
My parents know that Florida is not the best place for my dad to be for his treatment. We are trying to get them to Boston for him to be seen at Dana Farber by a lymphoma specialist. It is also recommended that he stay at an acute care rehab facility, which will be an additional cost. While they have saved for emergencies and have health care, they did not plan on extended stays in a city that is not their home or a home of one of their children. These added expenses are a concern, but we want them to worry about him getting better, not how we're going to pay for it.
Your donations would lessen the financial burden of airfare, hotel costs, food, and healthcare copays & deductibles. Rest assured, your kindness will never be forgotten.
We know that the last few years has been hard on many economically. If all you have to give is prayer, then we will wholeheartedly accept with sincere gratitude, because we believe prayer can change so much.
