UPDATE - Wow! We are completely blown away by your incredible response to this! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Loraine Haddon is one of the most amazing women I have ever known.
December 11 she was admitted to the hospital with vertigo, headaches and was having falls several times a week. Upon further investigation she has been diagnosed with colo-rectal cancer, a pulmonary embolism and everything that goes along with it. January 1, we received the news that she was not a candidate for any treatment to rid her of the cancer due to the severity. She has been placed on “comfort care” and will live out her days in her home with her husband Gerry and her son Michael and his family. We have had the pleasure of her love and generosity for many years. If you have met her you know that she’s an altruist and you never leave her presence without feeling her love and empathy for whatever you may be going through. Her heart is so big!
The goal for this is to be able to support the immediate care needs for Loraine and Gerry, as he is 86 with moderate dementia. Their son Michael and family have had to take time off work and focus on this 100%. It’s a big family with 4 generations living under one roof. COVID has made the decision to keep her home a difficult but necessary one. We want to be able to spend as much time as possible with her.
Your support is so very appreciated and we are so grateful for all the support we have and will receive in the coming days, weeks and Lord willing, months ahead.
