L'orage a frappé dur chez Expérience Unik!

Expérience Unik a besoin de notre aide. Le 21 mai 2022, un orage violent a frappé la région de l'est ontarien. Parmi les coins ayant subit le plus de dommage, on retrouve le village de Hammond, ON et notamment, Expérience Unik.

Expérience Unik offre des services bilingues de répit, de camps de jour et de zoothérapie, pour les enfants, ados et adultes à besoins particuliers. Malheureusement cette petite ferme accueillante a subit beaucoup de dommage lors de l'orage. Depuis une semaine, Marie-Josée et sa famille s'acharne à défriger les arbres abattus afin de maintenir la ferme fonctionnelle et accessible. Par contre, la grange a toujours besoin de réparations, les chevaux sont sans abris et la remise d'entrepôt est entièrement démolie.

Pendant ce temps, Marie-Josée doivent habiter ailleurs. Car en plus du dommage à la ferme, le toît de leur maison, tout près de la propriété d'Expérience Unik, a été arraché par les vents violents lors de l'orage. Leur maison, sans toît et endommagée par les pluies torrentielles, est inhabitable.

Malgré ceci, Marie-Josée a priorisé les animaux et la clientèle d'Expérience Unik et insiste de continuer à offrir les services aux participants. En plus, l'équipe est en pleine préparation pour les camps d'été qui approchent à grands pas. Les parents d'enfants ayant des besoins particuliers savent à quel point il est difficile de trouver des camps d'été, surtout en français, pour des enfants ayant des différences sensorielles, physiques, sociales et développementales.

Expérience Unik a besoin de votre aide IMMÉDIATE pour pouvoir dédommager les besoins les plus urgents:

-rebâtir l'abris pour les chevaux

-engager des gens pour continuer à défricher le terrain d'arbres et débris afin de permettre l'accès et la sécurité pour tous, incluant les personnes utilisant un fauteuil roulant et à mobilité réduite

-solidier la grange pour les animaux en attendant de voir si elle doit être reconstruite au complet

-remplacer l'équipement perdu pour les camps d'été (trampoline, structure, jeux)

-offrir du support financier MAINTENANT en attendant la réclamation aux assurances pour permettre à Marie-Josée et sa famille de se concentrer sur la réparation de leur maison

 

 

Expérience Unik needs our help. On May 21, 2022, a severe thunderstorm hit the Eastern Ontario region. The village of Hammond, where Expérience Unik is located, is among the areas that suffered the most damage.

Expérience Unik offers bilingual respite services, day camps and zootherapy for children, teens and adults with special needs. Unfortunately, this little farm, where everyone is welcome, suffered much damage during the storm. For the past week, Marie-Josée and her family have been working non-stop to clear fallen trees to keep the farm functional and accessible. Despite all that work, the barn still needs repairs, the horses are without shelter, and the large storage shed is entirely destroyed.

If this wasn't already challenging enough, Marie-Josée and her family are presently having to live elsewhere. In addition to the damage to the farm, the roof of their house, near the property of Expérience Unik, was torn off by the violent winds during the storm. Their home, roofless and damaged by torrential rains, is uninhabitable.

Despite this, Marie-Josée has prioritized the animals and the clients of Expérience Unik and insists on continuing to offer the services to the participants. The team is in the middle of planning and preparing for summer camps. Parents of children with special needs know how difficult it is to find summer camps, especially in French, for children with sensory, physical, social and developmental differences.

Experience Unik needs your IMMEDIATE help to compensate for the most urgent needs:

-rebuild the shelter for the horses

-hire people to continue clearing the land of trees and debris to allow access and safety for all, including people using a wheelchair and those with reduced mobility

-solidify the barn for the animals while waiting to see if it will need to be completely rebuilt

-replace lost equipment for summer camps (trampoline, structure, games)

-offer financial relief NOW while waiting for the insurance claim to allow Marie-Josée and her family to focus on repairing their home
