Lopez Fam’s Mamma- Medical expenses

Hi, name is Jayd. Our mom Christie has been struggling with her health and was diagnosed with severe anemia earlier this fall. She has spent time trying to get to the root of the issue but despite our efforts; with insufficiency of insurance coverage and funds, that process did not go as quickly as any of us would have liked. Things took even more of a turn this month. What her doctor suspected was a bleeding ulcer at start of month when she began to have worsening abdominal pains along with other symptoms ended up being more than that. Her doctor relayed there would be no sure answers until further diagnostic tests could be run. Before that was able to happen, as our family was trying to pull together funds on our own; her symptoms progressed which did land our mom in the hospital over a week ago. Her numbers were so low that she required a blood transfusion of 4 units of blood. All of this happened so quickly and what was suspected to be a bleeding ulcer, turned out to be a large mass in her colon that was very close to completely obstructing it. This did require surgery and they removed almost 9 inches of her colon along with lymph nodes and her appendix. Biopsies are being run and the “C” is being thrown around. Our mamma is so strong and has had quite the journey so far. We are praying for her speedy recovery and for good news from here. Our mom is a nanny and has been working as one for a decade. She will be unable to lift for 6 weeks so she had to resign from her position where she was caring for a 6 month old and a 2 year old, both of whom she had to lift. Please, if you are able to contribute to the medical expenses our mom has so far, that would help to lift a weight off of our family unit’s shoulders so our mom can focus on recovering and figuring out next steps from here.
