Many have asked about this so here it is:
All that being said, Loopy was rushed to CVRC and they have been amazing. We didn't know it when we took him but they're the only Level 1 certified trauma veterinary hospital in the state. We're very thankful for that!
Loopy went into about 2.5 hours of surgery that day and came home the next day with us. We've been back nearly every day with some complication or another though and the total is reaching incredible levels. One of his two drains quit sealing and had to be removed, he had had excessive swelling, excessive drainage that scared us, and today when we went to have a checkup and maybe get his drain removed they identified that he has an infection in multiple wound locations.
Nicholle and I have talked and we are pursuing this next course of treatment for him which includes going in every other day to have his bandages changed out and wounds cleaned and inspected. Each of these appts alone is going to be about $200. We have committed to doing 6 bandage appts and seeing how he is doing at that time.
Loopy is 100% Sophia's dog as they snuggle every night together in her bed when he was well. We told her about the decision we made today to pursue this next course of treatment but if it doesn't work that we may need to let him go. She was a mess of emotions over this and has spent a lot of time next to his crate since he came home this evening.
All of this is just the story of what happened and where we are. Many have asked how they could help and so I decided to make this. If you want to help support Loopy and his medical costs we would be forever grateful but please don't feel any pressure. We are so beyond thankful for all the people who have him in their thoughts and prayers for good healing!
Thank you,
Phil, Nicholle, Sophia, Chloe, Loopy, Moo, Kimchi, Tort and Nesta.
