My hope with this go fund me is to pay for medical expenses and the ambulance bill, as well as my parents plane ride up here to support me. Also I am unsure of when I will be able to return to work so my rent as well. Please read on below to hear more.
On December 5th I was riding Yamaha 2 stroke motorcycle home from a friends house around noon. I made it to about 18th and Geary where an oblivious driver, who had been driving next to me for a few blocks, changed into my lane and crashed into me. The force of the collision caused my helmet to come unsnapped and fly off my head. The of impact of my body and head hitting the ground was so great it caused me to have a concussion and immediately start to have a seizure. Unbeknownst to me an ambulance was called and I was taken to SF General hospital. When I came to I had two gaping holes in my right leg. One of which is a puncture that starts on one side of my leg and exits the other. This particular gash lays over my achilles tendon and if it had been even a few millimeters deeper would have cut though. I would have ended up never walking the same again.
This called for stitches. I also received multiple cuts to my face one of which was very deep, requiring stitches. Last was a large contusion on the back of my head, this again needed stitches.
At first the doctors were of the opinion that my leg was broken. Upon much of my insiting they X-Rayed my right hand which turned out to be broken. Due to this break, my inability to walk without a crutch caused by my leg wounds and the fact that I had a seizure I will not be able to return to work until I undergo physical and mental therapy. I will be unable to support myself in the upcomming months until returning to work. I also have been withdrawn from my classes at San Francisco State for the rest of the semester, right before finals.
I am now in SF General over night. My parents, who got a rather uninformative call from the doctors in the ICU where I was being treated, flew from San Diego up to San Francisco immediately to support me.
Upon regaining consciousness I was blessed with the sight of my two roommates, Elsa and Matilda, as well as my friend Alex. I am truly blessed for having such strong support during this terrifying time in my life. Soon after my dad and stepmom showed up along with our family friend Bailey. I feel so bad for all the shock I must have put them through however I know I would have been in much poorer condition without their support.
I am so grateful for everyone's well wishes and contributions. I never thought in a million years I was so cared for by so many wonderful people. Life never ceases to amaze me.
Please, if anything, look twice for motorcyclists!
