Look Park Train Project

The time has finally come to retire the existing Look Park locomotive and purchase a new one!!
The Look Memorial Park train has been the Park’s icon since the one mile track was laid out in 1948. Thousands of families over the course of many generations have enjoyed wonderful experiences when taking this magical ride around the Park. As a privately run , non-profit park that is not tax payer funded, we are looking for the support of friends from the community to assist our efforts in keeping our iconic locomotive running for all to enjoy for generations to come.
During the summer of 2015, the train engine was out of commission three (3) separate times for major repairs and unable to operate for over a month. Due to the nature of the breakdown, it was brought to a high-tech heavy equipment transmission shop in New Hampshire. The mechanics informed us that the locomotive may not make it through another season due to all the recurring issues and potential for new problems to occur. Due to the train's age and parts no longer being available, they strongly advised us to look into acquiring a new locomotive.
Each year, over 50,000 visitors enjoy a train ride around the Park to the delight of children of all ages. This has resulted in the locomotive logging over 400,000 miles over the course of the past 32 years serving the community.
Look Memorial Park has determined that a new locomotive is needed! We want to continue to provide this unique experience to all children and families who wish to share in the many memories a train ride experience provides. With the new locomotive costing the Park $200,000, we are reaching out to the community for support to assist our efforts in continuing to provide this beloved icon for years to come.
