This is very difficult for me to ask. Some of my family and friends have been wanting to know how my legs are doing since being diagnosed with Pyoderma Gangrosum (PG). I’m healing very, very slowly. Both legs are still bandaged 24/7 and I’m still on some heavy duty medications. I’ve been dealing with a lot mentally as well as emotionally. I have spent many hours feeling like I’m drowning with the magnitude of this life altering illness. While I am healing, I know I will only ever go into remission with this disease. How this is impacting my life now and in the future is something I think about all the time. On the plus side, I’m finally in a place where I have some good days and can work. I still have bad days and need to stay home. Those bad days are what is hindering now. Briefly, I’ve used every bit of PTO I’m allowed for the year. The worker’s compensation claim was denied. Just because I did file for workers comp, the short term disability was also denied. I’ve used all my savings and am sitting in the the red in my bank account. Somehow, I feel like I’ve failed. If you have some money you can spare and help me get through the next few months, I would greatly appreciate it. Money would go towards basic living expenses and any other medical expenses coming my way.
