Lonnie's Cremation Expenses
Donation protected
On May 3, 2022, my father Lonnie Hancock passed away from a brain injury caused by a drug overdose. He had been sober for decades before he got a leg amputation (complications of diabetes) performed in 2018. Due to being prescribed opioids for the pain he, unfortunately, started doing drugs again. This time he wouldn't make it back. My family and I had not heard from my father since 2020. He would not answer his phone and he had no known address. We found out December 12, 2022 that he passed in May. His death was posted on the national unclaimed person's website after they were not able to find his next of kin. We are still wrapping our minds around how long he was gone before we found out. My relationship with my father was very complicated. Still, it breaks my heart that he was marked unclaimed and unknown. He had family and friends who were reaching out to him and cared. I want to give him a final resting place and honor that at the end of the day he was still my father. If he gave me nothing else, he gave me life. My family and I plan to cremate him and lay his ashes near his childhood home. Anything you can donate to help us cover the expenses of the cremation is very much appreciated! Thank you for your support!
