Lonnee’s cancer copay

Donation protected
My insurance continues to not conver my chemo. I have not been able to maintain the $4000/month for my treatments without donations. I am trying to get a grant to go to Sloan Kittering in NYC to see a provider to prescribe a similar medicine which my insurance will comer. Then that med will be prescribed up here and I’ll be back on track. Until I get that grant, I need your help to maintain the chemo. Please donate. If you can’t donate, please share.

I am raising $6000, because slone kittering does not take my insurance. Slone Kettering does not take my instate insurance. I am thinking about going to the appointment. Although neither one could give me a solid estimate, the specialist cost is fairly significant. This will not cover all of it but it’ll be enough to pay for about 2/3 of it. Thank you.

I had a plan. This time a better one. I have a second opinion at Dana Farber hospital in Boston in December. I want to change chemo to Hertruda. It’s the same formula as the one I take. I got this idea from Carol Moriarty. Thank you. If I can do this, I have been guaranteed not to have to pay for it. This all depends on my liver scans in November. I’d love to raise the last 1500 dollars for the next 4 treatments so I don’t have a gap. We have until Monday. I know I’m asking a whole heck of a lot but I’m trying to be hopeful after a depressing week.

My name is Lonnee and I was given a terminal illness end date. I’m hoping to raise $4000 this month to help continue my chemo treatments for the next 6 months. I have used my life’s savings, my retirement and my 401K for my life. I am asking for your help
with donations. See my story below.

Here’s my story: My mom died of breast cancer in 1985 at age 43. I was 19 at that time. During my adult years I have done a variety of jobs. I’ve worked since I was 14. I went back to school at age 38 and earned a Master’s degree. I incurred $200,000 of student loans and over the 20 years, I have paid most of it back.

I was diagnosed was with breast cancer in 2010 at age 44. I had genetic studies done with no resulting cancer genes. I thought I beat it but, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in December  2020. Due to covid, and the rural area where I live, I was not able to see an oncologist until March of 2021. My treatments began in April of 2021.

I was working full-time with Blue Cross/Blue Shield insurance but due to the fact that most metastatic breast cancer meds are brand name, my insurance copays are almost 11,000 dollars every 2 weeks. I applied for grants through Pfizer and Merck. Pfizer gave me a grant which only covered 3 months. I have spent my 401K paying for chemo. Just over 600,000 to live with the cancer inside of me. I owe $110,000 to the hospital. I have applied for the hospital financial grant but I was told I would not be receiving it. I have applied to other local grants but also not receiving those. I tried to get a bank loan but they said no also. I can’t afford my next chemo treatment. In December of 2022, I asked my employer for a 3% raise to help with other bills. My employer said no. They started giving me a hard time about doctor appointments. I was supposed to get a bonus in January of 2022 but never received it. I was forced to quit my job for better insurance or so I thought it would be better. I am forced to have Medicaid insurance who will also not pay for the outrageous expense of the chemo. I have spent all of my savings and all of my 401K to provide for my chemo. I am out of funds. I have never asked for money from anyone other than a bank. It is hard for me to ask for help. I’m asking for help now. Your contribution will be greatly appreciated.
