Housing and Long Covid Recovery Help for Caroline

Donation protected
At the end of Dec 2020, Caroline woke up with what she thought was a migraine. On Jan 3rd, 2021, she tested positive for COVID. Almost a year and a half later, she’s still struggling with debilitating symptoms. Some days she can't drive. Some days she wakes up and can't feel her arms. Some days her vision is blurry for the first half of the day. Some days she can't stay awake for more than an hour or two and some days she stays awake for 24 hours. She loses her train of thought in the middle of a sentence. She forgets names of people and everyday objects as she’s looking at them. And this is on top of the "normal" symptoms of fatigue, nausea, chest pressure, shortness of breath, joint pain, dizziness, etc.

Caroline has unfortunately had massive setbacks with her recovery over the last few months, many with cognitive issues. Her doctor has encouraged her to not work at all so that she can have a solid chance at recovery, warning that if she continues trying to push herself, she will end up in the hospital. Caroline has explored and exhausted all of her options to make this financially possible including contacting several disability lawyers/advocates, filing for unemployment, and searching for part-time employment that will allow her to recover and work at the same time. Unfortunately, nothing has come through, and it is now time to ask her community for help.

The money raised from this Go Fund Me campaign will go to help cover Caroline’s medical and living expenses for the next few months, so that she can take time off and hopefully make some serious strides in her recovery.

Leading up to her long-COVID diagnosis, Caroline has been a tireless animal rescue activist and local rescue volunteer. She is personally responsible for hundreds (yes, hundreds!) of animals finding loving homes over the past few years, including numerous feral cats that she has helped place in safe barn homes. These are animals that would have likely not have made it out of the shelter without Caroline’s help. Even now, her main concern is being able to continue to provide for her furry babies, many of whom she adopted herself because they had no other viable option. Now, it’s our turn to give back to her. Thank you so much for considering donating to this campaign and for giving Caroline the time and space to rest and recover. I truly cannot think of a person more deserving of the help.
