Raising Money for Longstone Special Needs School and Mencap – A Thank You from the Heart

As a parent, there’s nothing more important than seeing your child grow, learn, and be happy. My son Zac has additional needs, and like many families in our position, our journey hasn’t always been easy. But thanks to the incredible support from Longstone Special Needs School and Mencap, Zac has come such a long way – and I want to give something back.

Longstone has been a lifeline for Zac and for us as a family. It’s more than a school – it’s a place where Zac is understood, supported, and encouraged every single day. He has learned valuable life skills that have helped build his confidence and independence, and the staff have always treated him with the patience, care, and respect every child deserves.

Mencap has also played a huge part in Zac’s progress. Through their support, he’s been able to gain practical skills that help him in everyday life – skills that will stay with him into adulthood. They’ve offered not only help for Zac, but guidance and reassurance for us as parents too.

That’s why I’ve decided to raise money for both Longstone and Mencap – as a way of saying thank you, and to help them continue the amazing work they do for other children and families like ours.

I’m planning to do a skydive on September 28th and I’d love for as many people as possible to get involved. Whether you can donate, share our story, or help spread the word, every bit of support means the world.

This is more than just a fundraiser. It’s a tribute to the people who have helped Zac grow into the bright, determined boy he is today – and a step towards making sure other children get the same chance to shine.
