Long-standing Fiji school that burned down
Donation protected
On January 23, just before the school term was set to begin, a devastating fire broke out at the factory next door to Christian Outreach College (COC) in Suva. Tragically, firefighters were unable to fully contain the blaze due to a lack of water in the hydrants. Every time progress was made, the inferno reignited, ultimately consuming everything in its path.
While we are deeply grateful that no lives were lost, the loss is overwhelming. The fire destroyed everything—classrooms, books, records, instruments, furniture, and even all the church equipment essential to the community.
For 29 years, COC has faithfully served the Suva community, providing exceptional care and education. Despite this tragedy, the school is determined to rebuild and continue its mission. However, they cannot do it alone.
Your support can make a difference in helping COC rise from the ashes. Every contribution, no matter how small, will help restore hope, rebuild what was lost, and ensure that the students and community can thrive once again.
