Longshot to save our dog
Hi, our names are Lisa and Chris, we have a 5 year old Shichi (shitzu and chihuahua mix) named Sofi that has suddenly (symptoms within days) taken ill. Upon exams by two vets, it has been determined that Sofi has an autoimmune disorder that has quickly rendered her in critical condition. Sofis red blood cells are extremely low with a 'need to get something done now' urgency.
The vet says that a blood transfusion is her best bet, but it comes at a high cost. That is money we simply don't have. We ask for a little help although it is set well below actual cost, everything counts and is appreciated.
Never had we thought we'd be weighing the options of rent or our dogs life because it's just too expensive. We have no kids, but she holds the same importance as one to us. We'd rather hurt our pride by asking than to just give up on our dog because we can't afford the treatment.
Sofi has alot of life left in her, she's a sweet girl, who used to be full of energy. Her favorite foods are cheese and chicken sticks, which now she won't even look at. She doesn't even chase her ball anymore.
However, there is a CHANCE that this could save her, so we have to try all that we can.
If you read all this, we thank you for at least hearing us out.
Any and all support is appreciated. ❤️
