Longhope Opera

This year we welcome 'Scherzo Ensemble’, a collective of young professional vocal soloists in their final stages of training. Rossini’s ‘Il Barbiere di Siviglia ’ is a jewel in the crown of comic opera and a classic in the Bel Canto tradition. Scherzo's production will stay true to the work's farcical nature, drawing on elements of Commedia Dell'Arte.' The young cast is supported by a fantastic production team of young creatives under the age of 30, all doing very exciting work in their various fields. 


We are raising funds for Lunchbreak Opera, a charity run by our music director Matthew O’Keeffe, which offers free and accessible Opera to London’s office workers in their lunch hour.
