Longfellow Farm Fire - Help Us Keep Growing!

FARM STORY
For the past seven years, Longfellow Farm has been a welcoming and vibrant community space where neighbors come together to grow and share fresh food. This small neighborhood farm has become a safe place for folks to get their hands dirty, have access to healthy veggies, learn about farming, and connect to a thriving and caring community.

WHAT HAPPENED
Stewarding shared community spaces is never without its challenges. Last week, a small fire caught in the middle of the night at our beloved farm. By the time neighbors noticed and alerted farm managers and the fire department, the blaze had reached our large stack of straw bales and spread to our storage shed. Ultimately, the shed and thousands of dollars worth of tools and supplies that had taken us years to accrue were damaged. No one was hurt and the fire department put out the fire in the early morning hours, but we are now trying to recover and rebuild as we prepare for our 2022 growing season.

WHAT YOUR SUPPORT WILL DO
Over the weekend, a group of dedicated farm volunteers filled a dumpster bag with damaged supplies and tools. Our gas trimmer, loppers, bee hive bases, irrigation supplies, harvest crates, buckets, hand tools, row cover, tarps, gloves, and more were damaged in the fire. Your donation will help this entirely volunteer-run neighborhood farm replace the tools and supplies we need to continue thriving and feeding the community. We appreciate your support and invite you to join us for a workday this spring to share in the bounty of the harvest and joy of the community.
