Hey, I’m Craig and I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place. I’m raising money to help get me through a very rough patch. Two things occurred in late August: 1) the head gasket blew on my Subaru, and 2) I got fired from my position at a job I held for the last 4+ years. The firing is unjustified (and retaliatory), and I’m fighting it on two fronts right now. Without a car, finding work is proving difficult, and since I moved literally all at the same time it’s been rough going. I was granted unemployment (Sept 25th) based on wrongful termination and I am truly grateful for that, but that’s just going to barely keep my head (actually my nose) above water. After struggling to get sober 8+ years ago and working my way back to a professional life, this has been shocking, to put it mildly. At almost 60, it’s really challenging to even get an interview scheduled (30 applications in 0 interviews so far) I’m selling what I can (not enough to make a dent) and putting out flyers for dog walking and such, but nothing concrete yet. If you can help in any way, If you can just make a $10 donation, it all adds up. It’s scary to ask this of those I don’t know, but I have to turn over every stone. The head gasket repair alone is more than $2500, so it’s time to humble myself and ask this of those I know and don’t know. It’s embarrassing, but I have to do what I have to do to survive. Maybe someone has a vehicle or knows someone that is looking to donate one, that would would work too.
