Long-term planning needed for Bev Palatiello

Friends and family, we are sorry to say that Beverly had a stroke earlier this summer. Although she is recovering well at a rehabilitation facility, she will likely need long term care once she is discharged.
We do not know when, where, and what kind of care she will require. However, John, Sally and myself have started to navigate the world of elder-care and elder-care attorneys in Florida who can help us understand and plan the next step(s) for Bev. The desired outcome of this planning is for Bev to enjoy a living situation in the future that will give her the independence she wants without having to ask her family and friends for money.
Bev's financial situation is dire. Many of us have helped Bev in the past, but she is severely underwater. We have a clearer picture of her social security income and her current expenses. Changes will need to be made to insure she has a sustainable healthcare and living situation moving forward.
This fundraiser is for financial help to retain an elder-care attorney (& incidentals) who can help us with her complicated situation. John, Sally and Richard have invested a significant amount of our time and money already to help Bev over the past few weeks. Richard flew to Florida for a few days to "be there" for Bev after she was admitted. He gained power of attorney, and took inventory of as much as possible in regards to her condominium, debts and other important information as possible. John and Sally have graciously helped Bev for her first mortgage payment under a re-structured plan with her bank. Sally and Richard speak to Bev almost every day. Thanks in advance for your generosity. Together, with an attorney, we can get Bev back on her feet with Medicare, Medicaid and/or state assistance. Please note that this money raised is NOT going directly to Beverly, rather it is going to support legal assistance to help Beverly live without incurring more debt and to help her maintain a stable financial and dignified future.
