Hi, my name is Dougie Guey. 2025 I found out I had a cancer tumour in the lymph nodes on the left side of my neck. December 03, 2025 I had surgery to remove it however from the time of finding the tumour and removing it. The cancer had somewhat spread. The surgeon removed lymph nodes on both sides of my neck. Part of the inside of my mouth, tonsils, part of my tongue and part of my esophagus. I was told by the surgeon he was happy how the surgery went and fairly confident he removed the cancer.

January 20 2026 had an appointment with the radiation therapy doctor and he recommended I do radiation treatment because of the size of the tumour and to be absolutely sure we get rid of the cancer cells. I agreed to do this and it would take a total of 30 sessions Monday to Friday starting February 2026 and finishing March 18, 2026 with still a couple of months for recovery from the radiation therapy. However I am still recovering from the surgery and doing rehabilitation for this currently.

I am asking for help just to help offset some of the loss of wages from disability benefits as long term disability only pays 55% of total wages. Because I can’t afford to be off work with only half a paycheck to pay my bills. I will be returning back to work although I’m still recovering and going through rehabilitation. I’m just asking for help to get me through one month until I can return to work on modified duties
