Long Road Ahead

Hello everyone, My name is Shawn and I am in need of your help. So on Friday, May 20, 2022 while I was traveling home. Excited to be done work for the week with plans to edit the footage I captured earlier in the week, and the street photography I planned that weekend in NYC to further fine tune photography and videography.

But things always doesn't go to plan. While riding my e-bike(Lectric XP) home from work.A drunk driver swerved into my lane and hit me head on. From that impact all I could remember was that I couldn't get up and there was something wrong with my leg and it was hard for me to breath. EMS quickly came and took me to Torresdale Hospital. The doctors quickly assessed the situation and told me that I was to right into surgery. And like two minutes after that I was given a sedative which put me out.

I woke up after the ketamine began of wear off and found that my leg was in traction hanging in the air. Soon after that the trauma surgeon came in and explained my the injuries I sustained.

Dislocated shoulder

4 broken Ribs

Partial collapse Lung

Dislocated hip

A broken hip in which the hip joint sit into, in which I need another surgery that Monday to fix.

So after 11 days in the hospital. I come the realization that I may never walk normal like I have done years past and if it wasn't for the fact that I am a active and in good health. I could have been in a worst situation. I am very grateful to be alive and going fight like hell to get myself right. But only time will tell, and time is what I have abundance of right now. I am able to walk but only with the assistance of a walker and not for long periods of time which will put more strain on my ribs and shoulder.

So I'm asking any amount you can spare will be greatly appreciated. The goal amount I'm asking reflects the time of six months. And by that time I will have a better assessment on what I able to do and not do. Not saying I will fully healed (it takes up to a year for the hip to heal) but I will have a better understanding of my abilities. As of right now im not generating any income to support myself. So I am asking family, friends, and friends of friends to share this even if your unable to donate. Every little bit helps.
