The "LONG POINT SCHOOL HOUSE" is one of, if not the only, remaining Historical African-American School Houses in the Lowcountry.
The structure is on land which was recently sold. In efforts to preserve the historic landmark, which educated many African Americans, passed and present, a committee has been formed. The committee: The Snowden Community Civic Association, The African-American Settlement Commission along with others, MISSION is to raise the funds needed to RELOCATE the structure to the Snowden Community Center and RESTORE the structure to be used as a CULTURAL AND EDUCATION CENTER.
