On July 30th, 2020- The most amazing and inspiring Mom, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Grand Daughter, and all of the above- Glendy Dominguez gained her wings and lost to the Lupus Battle she had been fighting for the past 20 years. Despite losing Glendy we are so proud of how HARD and MUCH she fought to be able to see her little girl Josie graduate HS (Which was always her wish).
The reason why we have decided to create this GoFundme is simply because of how amazing Glendy was and how much Josie meant to her. Though we will never be able to replace the loss of not physically having Glendy, we know that, all she ever lived for was her baby girl, Josie.
Anyone who knows Glendy knows how Vibrant, Brave, Unstoppable and just the best taste of fresh air (just to say the least), she was.
Being such a beautiful soul with a golden heart, Glendy touched every person she met or knew in the deepest way. Glendy's strength and strong sense of positivity was extremely admirable, up until the very last day she passed.
Josie is now about to be 20 years old on August 19th ,2020 and has superseded all of the hopes that Glendy could've ever had, for being such a young woman. Not a day went by that Glendy did not remind Josie of how proud she was of the woman she has become (all of us too are extremely proud of her, really).
Glendy & Josie have been the greatest duo as a Mom & Daughter, Friend & Confidant, known to LIFE! They had the best of relationships that anyone could ever have. Despite Josie being a strong, mature, brilliant & beautiful young woman, we cannot take away the truth; which is that, at only 19 years old, Josie has lost her Mom. We now have Josie having to face reality, the hard way! Although Glendy was sick, this is also in the most unexpected way because no one is ever ready to lost a parent, most importantly, her Mom. Being pushed into a new chapter in her life without the precious guidance of her beloved mother and best friend, Josie must now depend on the gracious help of her loved ones as well as her inner strength to advance into her bright future.
Message from Josie: My mother and I lived alone in a two bedroom apartment since i was a baby. Due to her passing in our apartment, it has become very difficult to live within the place I grew-up in, with her. As I step into this new chapter of my life, i will need the aid and care of my loved ones to help me through this tough time as i seek to move into a one bedroom apartment of my own. I desire to make an effort to become the independent woman my mother always imagined i would be for years. As I strive to make her proud, I ask that you contribute in any way you can to her memory and the bright future she had envisioned for me. I plan to keep you all posted with the moves I make and I'm hoping you all enjoy this bittersweet journey along with me.
