Hello Friends and Family,

My husband, father of Naomi and Lily, and your friend Long Do has been battling stage 4 Cholangiocarcinoma, or bile duct cancer. He was diagnosed last year on March 19, 2025. Both terms describe a rare, highly aggressive cancer that arises in the slender tubes (bile ducts) that carry the digestive fluid from the liver and gallbladder to the small intestine.

Long's journey has been marked by numerous stays in and out of hospitals since his diagnosis. Together, Long and I have made the difficult decision to forego further chemotherapy and treatments. While this was not an easy choice, the negative effects of the treatments now outweigh the positive. Continuing these treatments would pose a higher risk to his health and quality of life.

Long's choice is to spend more time with family and friends creating memories and experiences with the time he has left. Long continues to lose weight, not eating much, sleeping more, and feeling weaker with limited mobility. While we do not know how much time we still have together, we know that this journey is nearing it's final chapter. We have chosen hospice care at home to focus on comfort, peace, and making the most of each day together.

Our friends and family have been amazing with an outpouring of love, support, and visiting often to share memories and laughter. We can't thank you enough for all you have done for us during this difficult time.

While it is never easy to ask for help, Long's wish is to create a GoFundMe to help with the ongoing expenses and support for whatever uncertainties may lie ahead. We have not asked for this kind of help before, and if you would like to contribute, we are sincerely grateful. Your support is appreciated but by no means expected.
