On the evening of Saturday, August 16th, my father, Long Doan, was the victim of an assault. My father is now suffering from a traumatic brain injury and is currently in a coma. During his comatose, he has suffered multiple strokes, seizures and is continuously fighting extreme changes in his blood pressure, making his recovery all the more difficult.

My dad is one of the funniest, happiest and most loving people I know. He is always the life of the party and always has a smile on his face. He's known for his soulful singing, his unusual tolerance for spicy food and most importantly, his love for his family.

My family and I have flown from California to Indiana to care for and support my father in his long journey towards healing. We have been faced with costly items such as medical bills, legal costs, transportation, housing, food, and other necessities needed for my father and his recovery as well as my family's needs. Those who were involved in the event of his injury have not financially supported my father or our family.
