Long Beach Thunder Cooperstown 2019
Donation protected
Greetings from Long Beach Thunder, a talented team of 11- and 12-year olds going to Cooperstown, New York, for a national tournament, August 3 through 9!
With our once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play at Cooperstown All Star Village approaching fast, we are reviving our GoFundMe Campaign to raise the last chunk of money we need to make our Cooperstown dream a reality!
We've come so far! We need only $4,000 more. So, if you've been waiting to make your contribution, the time is now! Every dollar you give now will help every single member of our team with expenses from tournament fees to transportation and lodging. So, won't you please take a moment to give as generously as you can! Need a tax-deduction receipt? Let us know.
Long Beach Thunder's Cooperstown Story -The Long Beach Thunder 12U boys’ baseball team earned its spot at Cooperstown, where it will play other 12U teams from throughout the U.S. and the world. Thunder will be representing Uptown Long Beach Youth Baseball and Softball (Uptown), a thriving league based in Cherry Avenue Park in North Long Beach.
As many of the players on this diverse, talented team have never been to the East Coast, Team Manager Robert Weaver has planned the trip of a lifetime. The team will fly first to Philadelphia, PA, where it will visit the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall and catch a Phillies’ game. Next, the team will drive to upstate New York for the week-long tournament and to visit the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. Afterwards, the group will travel to Boston, where they will tour the Freedom Trail and the Boston Tea Party Museum and catch a Boston Red Sox game in Fenway Park.
