London’s Calling: Help the Sirens Compete at IGLA
Donation protected
The Subversive Sirens are a MN based Synchronized swimming team dedicated to Black Liberation, radical body acceptance, equity in aquatics, and queer visibility.
This June, our team is traveling to London for the 2023 IGLA LGBTQ+ Aquatics Championships June 25-27th, where we will be trying to three-peat as gold medalists. We will be competing with teams from around the world and representing the social justice liberation community in MN on a world stage. Our competition routine will be a mash-up of music by Jon Batiste & Lizzo, Big Freedia, and Janelle Monáe. Our coach Ana Mendoza Packham has choreographed an amazing routine and we are excited to bring home some more hardware!
Through grants, individual donations, and contributions from the Sirens themselves, we have already raised 75% of the funds needed for pool time, competition registration, custom suits, coaching, and travel expenses. However, we need your help to get us to our goal.
Competing this year will be our five person team of Signe Harriday, Tana Hargest, Zoe Hollomon, Suzy Messerole and Roxanne Prichard, and our two amazing managers Alice Butts and Erin Sharkey.
Our community has shown up for us in so many ways these past several years. Please consider a donation - every dollar helps! And please share with your friends and loved ones. London’s Calling - Help Us Answer the Call!
With great love & appreciation,
