I’m cycling 1,200km from my home in East London to Saint-Cyprien in the South of France, over 9 days (29/07/26-06/08/26) to raise money for the Miles Kent Forever Foundation. Bear in mind I am not an experienced cyclist, only purchasing a bicycle this year primarily for this challenge.
I didn’t know Miles for long, but in that short time his outlook on life, his charisma, and the care and love he showed to people around him, despite his incredibly tough battle with cancer, have had a real impact on me. A feeling I know I share with many others. Miles was someone who left a mark just by being himself. His partner is a close friend of mine and one of my wife’s best friends, which makes this cause especially personal.
When I first planned this ride, I intended to fundraise for another charity - but after Miles’ passing it felt right to instead dedicate this challenge to him and to raise awareness for the incredible foundation that his family has set up in his name.
The foundation is split between two causes:
- 'The Christie Charity' - A cancer charity, helping to support the development of cancer prevention, treatment, research and education through investment in staff, equipment facilities and other support services.
- A local music initiative in Miles’ name, which will provide opportunities for young people to access instruments, lessons, and creative spaces — empowering the next generation of musicians just as Miles dreamed.
This will be a tough physical and mental challenge, but nothing compared to what Miles and everyone who loved him has faced. Any donation, share on social media or support would mean a huge amount.
Thank you for your support!
