Kat, Lari, Sophie, and Cassie (with the support of Vicki) are embarking on the London Winter Walk 2022 (26.2 miles) on Sunday 30th January 2022 to raise money for Saving Abandoned Fly Grazing Equines (‘SAFE’).
SAFE are a non-profit organisation who rescue abandoned and neglected horses and ponies across Surrey and Berkshire. The majority of the horses that come into the care of SAFE have health concerns requiring urgent veterinary care and have had little to no human contact. SAFE’s main objectives are to Rescue, Rehabilitate and Rehome.
SAFE currently cares for 37 horses funded entirely by donations and run by a group of amazing volunteers. Volunteers look after the horses and ponies, gain their trust over time and with the assistance of vets, farriers and others nurse them back to a full bill of health.
The team name we have chosen, ‘Pepper’s Pony Girls’, is in memory of one of SAFE’s former residents who sadly crossed the rainbow bridge on 07 February 2021. Pepper came to us over three years ago having been used as a racing trotter and then a brood mare. Her body showed signs of too many foals and little care, her teeth were falling out, she had osteoarthritis and her feet were completely flat due to no preventative care. Pepper had the best of everything with SAFE and was loved by everyone.
Please sponsor Pepper’s Pony Girls to raise funds for this amazing charity who face the cold winter months ahead. Any donation, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated. Donations will go towards feed, veterinary care, the farrier, hay, bedding and other essential costs associated with caring for the horses and ponies.
Thank you for choosing to sponsor us to raise money for SAFE. Your essential donations help us provide ongoing love and care to our remarkable residents to give them a second chance at life. We appreciate your generous donations and we know our residents do too!
