Hello, friends of Alex and Andrew!

Best Friends and Adoring Fans of Alex Lonati here (I mean, who among us isn't - she's fabulous!) with an important message and an urgent invitation to support our dear Alex and her husband, Andrew:

In the early morning hours on Tuesday, August 22nd, an electrical fire started in Alex and Andrew's new home in Dorchester, MA (link to one of the news stories on the fire here). The fire spread quickly, engulfing multiple floors and taking with it all of the goods and possessions that Alex and Andrew had already moved into their new house. To give you a sense of the extent of the damage, below is a photo of fire fighters at the scene, one of the bedrooms, the entryway, and the kitchen.

Thankfully, Alex and Andrew were not in the house at the time, as they had been slowly moving in and completing home projects over the course of the month and were set to make their final big move a few days later. That said, this remains a catastrophic loss, not only emotionally but also financially. The damage has rendered the structure uninhabitable and, sadly, none of the items lost in the fire are salvageable. The interior of the home will have to be entirely rebuilt, and it will likely be at least 12 months before they can move in and finally begin to enjoy their journey as first time homeowners.

If Alex or Andrew have touched your life in any way, and you are in a position to donate, we are humbly asking for your help in supporting them as they replace what was lost and face mounting current and future costs associated with the rebuilding of their home. Here's what your donation will be put towards:

The first $5,000 raised will go toward immediate needs and replacing necessities like clothing, shoes, toiletries, pantry items and essential cookware.
The second $5,000 raised will go toward unexpected costs that have and will continue to arise between now and the time they move into the house (~12 months from now).
The third and final $5,000 raised will go toward replacing non-essential items that were lost, such as books, artwork, and the many wedding gifts purchased from their registry that were lost.

Alex and Andrew feel there is so much to be grateful for, and we know that between their love for each other and support from their amazing community of friends and family, they will come through the tough months ahead with more strength, grace, and gratitude than ever before!
