Harmain (second from left) is an Indonesian teacher who visited our school in Australia in 2017.  He teaches at SMA Negeri 1 Aikmel in East Lombok.

Harmain has been profoundly effected by the recent earthquake in Lombok, Indonesia. Harmain was with a large group of his students when the quake hit and made a harrowing exit with his students as the building they were in fell around them (I understand they all made it out). Harmain later learnt that two of his family had died and there has been extensive damage to his home and village. As I write this he is living under a tarpaulin in the hills surrounding his village.

The money raised here is to go directly to Harmain to help his family and community in the long road ahead as they rebuild their homes and rebuild their lives.
