This week Kathleen started a multi-month process to defeat breast cancer and get back to a normal life.
It won't be news to you that a treatment plan that encompasses some 30 or more weeks of chemo and radical surgery will be costly. These kinds of life experiences are costly on the emotional and psychological side, as well, especially in terms of lost work, ability to do what you love, and take care of those you love.
Kathleen is the fun mom you wish you had to plan and implement your summers. She plans a summer of adventures, art, explorations, and travel that make memories and opens up the world with all of its meaningfulness. Kathleen won't be able to make that happen this summer for the boys. When she learned of this long and harrowing medical journey, her first concerns were centered around ensuring that the boys are able to keep up with extra curricular activities in the short term, as well as needing to add classes, workshops, and camps for the summer.
We would be grateful if you can help ameliorate this worry she has for the boys. I've set a $10,000 goal to ensure that they can have a fun summer and that there will also be extra funds to help off set medical expenses.
We might not be able to ease her pain, facilitate her healing, or make this go away, but we can lift this significant anxiety and worry she and Johannes have as parents so she can focus on what she needs to do beat this thing.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
