Love for Lolo and the Edlunds
Sarah and I are setting up this page because our 4 year old Goddaughter has recently been diagnosed with leukemia (ALL). Her family is trying to navigate through this brand new world and all this diagnosis entails. Too, Lolo's family has experienced an outpouring of love and care and offers of support that, frankly, right now, they can't navigate as they are making important decisions, trying to handle jobs, and parenting two other marvelous young people, in addition to caring for Lolo's medical and personal needs.
Lorelei's parents, Erin and Jeff, have shared heartfelt gratitude for everyone who is trying to reach out to them. In Erin's words ...
"Your love, support, and prayers have gotten us through the last few days. Truly.
This has all happened really fast, and I know Jeff and I both owe a lot of people messages and phone calls. Please know you aren’t being ignored. Above that, know that those messages and comments are possibly the only thing sustaining us. Keep them coming.
We have had lots of people offer help. We are going to need that help, because the reality is that Lolo will need a minimum of two years of treatment. That’s a gut punch every time I hear or say it, but we are doing it. Because of that, I don’t want to squander an ounce of generosity, because we are going to need any and all help available to get Lolo healthy and also take care of ourselves and our other two babies while doing our jobs and trying to be good community members and functioning humans.
Jeff and I are going to try and map some things out this weekend. From there, we may have some specific asks. For now, though, just thank you. We absolutely can’t do this alone, and I swear I’ll spend the rest of my life paying this forward. Asking for help is hard for me, but I’m learning to get over it because I’ll do anything to have my daughter giggling and growing at home again soon.
Edlundia fights together, and as the army of incredible people we are blessed to have in our lives, you part of Edlundia and this battle, too. Love, light, and positivity are going to get Lolo healthy and back to being her Lololicious self. This is a no pity zone. It’s prayers, positivity, and power. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
