Lolly needs your help! We are asking for donations to allow Lolly to receive the very best veterinary care possible. Please help us give Lolly a fighting chance to survive this medical crisis.
Lolly is a 7-year-old facility dog at Echols Middle School, which is part of the Tuscaloosa County School System. She has been a facility dog for almost five years at Echols. During that time, she's tended to thousands of students and teachers to calm anxiety, support inclusion and participation, provide comfort, and offer lots of tail wags. She is a huge part of the culture at Echols and loved by so many.
Last week, on 1/16/26, Lolly started showing signs of a distended belly. We were referred to Mississippi State University Veterinary School where they discovered that she was internally bleeding. MSU determined today 1/22/26 that she is showing signs of having carcinomatosis (she is showing cancer cells in her spleen and the fluid in her abdomen).
Every day this week Lolly's demeanor has remained happy, calm, and tending to her people at school. Which is part of what is baffling the doctors. Other than the cancer cells and extra fluid they can find no mass, no other symptoms.
We'd love to be able to meet with an oncologist and determine next steps to give Lolly a fighting chance as well as help her be as comfortable as possible.
We appreciate any and all donations to help Lolly get the care she deserves. Thank you for your love and support for our girl Lolly!
