Lola's unforeseen medical bills

Hi,

My name is Oonagh Brault and I am asking for help for unexpected medical bills for my Support Dog Lola Bear; She is a 5yr old Italian Mastiff weighing 110lbs of pure love. Lola is a wonderful dog filled with love, she seems to sense when I am struggling emotionally, cognitively or I am having balance issues due to my Dysautonomia and M.S. she is always at my side.

We need help with covering her unexpected medical expenses as we had to discontinue her health insurance due to the cost as we live paycheck to paycheck and at that time we had a very healthy puppy.

This past Monday 8/16/2021, Lola began limping, licking her paw and stopped eating/drinking, and under the advice of our family vet 8/17/2021, we took her to the 24hr ER Vet. On arrival she had a fever of 106.7 and her BP was erratic, she was immediately admitted overnight so that they could stabilize her. Lola was diagnosed with a ruptured abscess in her back paw from an unknown bacterial infection.

The next day she discharged home with anti-biotics and pain meds, but she continued to deteriorate , and ended up needing to be readmitted 2 days later as the antibiotics were not working, as of today the vet's are saying that the infection has spread up her leg and she may need to have her toe amputated. The surgeon will be assessing her on Monday.

We have currently paid 8,000.00 and exhausted all of our credit, and her medical bills continue to increase.

This page is extremely difficult for me to create, as I have always been and continue to be very private, self sufficient individual who takes care for others. The idea of now disclosing my medical disabilities and asking for financial assistance is extremely difficult and humbling for me.
