Our family dog, Lola, tore her left CCL (basically the ACL equivalent in dogs) in 2024. The diagnostic process, surgery, medication, and recovery ended up costing us over $8,000, but we were able to manage it and get Lola healthy again.
This past weekend, Lola tore her other CCL and will once again require surgery. It's very common for the other one to rupture after the first, but we had been managing Lola's weight and activity in an effort to avoid it.
This time around, it's going to be difficult or impossible for us to afford another TPLO surgery to repair her knee. It's embarrassing to ask for help. But Lola is only four years old and not having this surgery will severely impact her quality of life.
If you know Lola, you know she is the sweetest, most loving dog. She is always so eager to please and instantly falls in love with everyone she meets. She is our three year old daughter's best friend.
We're trying to figure things out, but we're under a lot of financial stress and the first surgery maxed out our CareCredit. We may not ultimately need everything we're attempting to raise. If that turns out to be the case, we will offer either a refund or a donation to an animal charity.
Thanks in advance for helping us get our dog healthy again.
