Lola's Juvenile Cataract Surgery
Donation protected
Two short months ago we adopted Lola from the Naples Humane Society. She is an amazing puppy. She doesn't meet a stranger and loves everyone and all other animals. Recently she displayed behavior that made us think she might be losing her site. She was crying and shaking and in discomfort. We rushed her to our local vet and found that she had inflamation in her eyes. She was referred to an opthamologist. No one locally could see her so we took her to sarasota where she was diagnosed with Juvenile Cataracts in both eyes. The cataracts are both so bad that they caused the inflamation and discomfort that she was having. They are also to the point that she is blind. The good news is there is a cure. It has an 80% success rate long term. Lola needs this surgery, but, it is very expensive. She will be hospitalized for one to two days and require many trips to Tampa for rechecks as well as a lifetime of specialty treatment for her eyes. We intend to do this for her....she deserves to have her eyes back. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated to alleviate some of the financial strain this has caused our family. She will have the surgery May 16th or May 17th based on what the doctor tells us at our consult on May 11th. Funds collected will be used exclusively to pay for Lolas surgery.
