Paying Tribute to Lola Sazo

September 15, 1955 - October 30, 2023

In loving memory of Maria Delores Sazo, who went by Lola. Mother, grandmother, godmother, wife, sister, daughter, auntie and friend.

On October 29th, Lola suffered an unexpected heart attack, falling and hitting her head, which created a blood clot in her brain. She passed away on the night of October 30th at 9pm. She was 68 years old. We are absolutely devastated by this sudden loss. Our hearts go out to her family and especially her husband, Guillermo, who she married in 2000. Lola was always supportive, showing up as a caretaker and pouring her heart out to everything and everyone. She always showed up with a smile. She was a great chef and loved to feed and care for others. Lola was born in Villa Canales, Guatemala and her wishes were to be buried in her home country, next to her mother. To help cover funeral costs and arrangements, we’ve created this GoFundMe to assist her family as much as possible. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated during this difficult time.

El 29 de octubre, Lola sufrió un ataque cardíaco inesperado, cayendo y golpeándose la cabeza, lo que creó un coágulo de sangre en su cerebro. Falleció la noche del 30 de octubre a las 9 p.m. Tenía 68 años. Estamos absolutamente devastados por esta repentina pérdida.
