Lola Grae’s Medical Expense
Donation protected
On Wednesday, September, 11th, the Segar’s Family received the news that their 10 year old daughter Lola Grae has a softball sized mass in her brain approaching 6cm in diameter. They were transported by ambulance to Scottish Rite in Atlanta for further testing. On Thursday, September 12th Lola received an MRI and it was determined that she has Juvenile Pilocystic Astrocytoma or JPA deemed to be at Stage 1. She was having debilitating headaches accompanied by severe vomiting due to the tumor pressing on the fourth ventricle and causing severe hydrocephalus or fluid buildup. She was scheduled to have an EVD placed on Friday, September 13th to drain the excess fluid and relieve the intense pressure. The EVD procedure gave sweet Lola immediate relief from the intense headaches. She is in good spirits and is scheduled for the tumor removal surgery on Monday, September 16th. The surgery will be an intense 5 to 6 hour procedure where the surgeons are hopeful to remove the tumor in its entirety and avoid chemo and radiation treatment. At this time Ashley and Wesley are focusing all their time and attention on their precious daughter and her recovery. With the high insurance deductible and lost time at work, the financial strain will be hard for this sweet family. We are setting up a go fund me account to help alleviate some of that pressure. If you are able to, please give to the wonderful family so that they will have one less hardship to worry about. If you are unable to give monetarily, please say a prayer for Lola Grae and her family. Thank you so much to all!
